About
The Initiative fosters and supports cutting-edge research to understand and mitigate hate as a destructive force in society. It supports projects that range across disciplines (including but not restricted to the social sciences, humanities, arts, law, education, information and computer sciences, and physical, cognitive, and health sciences).
A primary goal of the Initiative is to develop a scholarly community across the UCLA campus dedicated to researching hate through a variety of lenses. Research teams who receive funding from the Initiative, therefore, participate in a monthly seminar to share their research, discuss their findings, and hear from other experts. This cross-pollination is essential to the Initiative and is intended to enrich and the work of all involved.
